2010 Jr. Green Thumbs Club
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED — CLASSES ARE FULL
Ages: 5 – 11 yrs.
Times: 10:00 am & 11:00 am
Cost: $ 10.00 per child
Dates: June 16th and 30th, July 14th and 28th, August 11th and TBD.
- Class Activities- This year we will be planting a vegetable garden in the field behind the big greenhouse. Throughout the summer we will:
- Monitor the garden’s progress
- Discuss and provide for the garden’s needs
- Harvest and sample our fruits and vegetables.
- Other topics include:
- Honey bees and your garden
- Attracting butterflies
- Herbs for cooking
- Worm composting
June 16th – During our first class we will explore the new vegetable garden and each child will choose a plant to care for during the summer. We will also start our own plants from seed.
Saturday, October 2nd – Pumpkin Painting at the ‘Art Under Glass’ Festival
Classes planned and taught by Karen Moore, K-6 Certified Teacher.
Parents/caregivers can browse the Greenhouse or sit and relax at our picnic table while the class is being held. (No drop-offs, please).
