Before and After: A Total Transformation

Our Landscape Team brought this tired garden back to life last November (yes—planting in November is not only possible, it’s smart for many species!).

We started by excavating and installing a French drain and retaining wall to manage water and reshape the space. Then came the fresh foundation: a new paver patio and a thoughtfully designed planting plan that replaced overgrown, outdated greenery with a mix of structure, seasonal interest, and pollinator-friendly color.

More than 50 new plants went in the ground—each one selected to thrive in its spot and play a part in the bigger picture. Highlights include:

  • ‘Chubby Hubby’ Holly
  • ‘Arctic Fire’ Red Twig Dogwood
  • ‘Little Lime’ Hydrangea
  • ‘Bumblesnow’ Salvia
  • Ceratostigma
  • ‘Autumn Glow’ Tricyrtis
  • ‘Cat’s Meow’ Nepeta
  • ‘Sugar and Spice’ Viburnum
  • Itea virginica
  • ‘Standing Ovation’ Schizachyrium
  • ‘Crazy Blue’ Perovskia

…and more!
