Whether you are a seasoned horticulture industry professional, a novice gardener who wants to learn more about plants, a retiree who is looking to do something you enjoy, or a high school / college student looking for a job…. we have a place for you!
Part-time, Full-time, and Seasonal positions available on our Garden Center, Greenhouse Production, and Landscape teams.
With the exception of a few permanent positions, most of the positions available are temporary, seasonal— perfect for those wanting to earn some extra income for about 6-8 weeks, from approximately mid-April to mid-June. During that timeframe, we do about 3/4 of our business for the entire year, so our staff swells from about 15 to about 50-60 hardworking plant lovers like you!

Garden Center Sales Associate

The Garden Center Sales Associate is a customer service, merchandising, and plant maintenance position. Responsibilities include assisting customers at the checkout and on the sales floor, restocking plant benches and merchandise displays, and maintaining a clean shopping atmosphere.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • High School graduate or the equivalent.
  • Communication skills in person and over the phone to provide excellent customer service.
  • Previous retail experience a plus.
  • Plant knowledge a plus.

Work Conditions and Hours

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel, up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and precipitation).
  • Works hours include weekends and holidays.

Compensation
Pay range: $8.50 and up

Garden Center Assistant

The Garden Center Assistant is both a labor and customer service position. Responsibilities include restocking plant benches, plant maintenance tasks, maintaining a neat sales floor by sweeping, assembling boxes for the checkout, and loading customer vehicles.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • some high school, or greater.

Greenhouse Production Assistant

The Greenhouse Production Assistant plants and maintains annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetable plants in our 17 production greenhouses.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • GED or High School equivalent.
  • Previous greenhouse production experience or horticulture degree a plus.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel, up to 8 hours a day.

Nursery Supervisor

The Nursery Supervisor helps to oversee the tree and shrub department of the retail garden center. Responsibilities include retail operations, inventory management, personnel management, and greenhouse production.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge on operating machinery and valid drivers license is required
  • Horticultural expertise and knowledge of landscape design principles.

E-Commerce Fulfillment Specialist

The E-Commerce Fulfillment Specialist works together with the E-Commerce Operations Manager, Site Merchandiser, and Retail Managers to support online store order fulfillment and logistics. Additional responsibilities include assisting with inventory management, personnel management, and customer service.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • E-Commerce and Shopify or similar experience required
  • Inventory management and point of sale system experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to approach problems systematically, researching all alternatives and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workload sometimes requiring short turnaround time or with little direction.
  • Basic plant identification skills is helpful; advanced plant id preferred.
  • Customer service experience and skills to communicate by email, phone, and at the time of curbside pickup.

Landscape Designer

The Landscape Designer organizes and creates exterior spaces using plant materials and hardscape elements. The Designer works closely with clients from initial contact, site evaluation, closing the sale, to project completion.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or other related area.
  • Expertise in horticulture understanding and plant identification.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools and equipment utilized in landscape work.
  • Ability to perform a thorough site analysis to determine current vegetation, grading, and environmental factors.
  • Sales and marketing experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Landscape Team and clients.

Compensation Package
Base salary plus commission.

Landscape Foreman

Love working outdoors and creating beautiful landscapes? Looking for an opportunity for career growth and to lead your own landscape crew? Then our Landscape Team has a place for you!

The Landscape Foreman is a working supervisor of one or more crews in the planning, organizing and development of plant and hardscape installations at a job site.

Does the following describe you? 

  • At least 3+ years of landscape and hardscape experience in a supervisory role.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to be an effective team member, to provide excellent customer service, and to maintain job documentation.
  • Extensive gardening experience with knowledge of perennial and woody plants, as well as landscape/hardscape design concepts and applications.
  • Able to work independently in the comprehension and implementation of a design.
  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and maintaining plants in a landscape, gardening tools and equipment, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to drive a skid steer and dump truck.

Compensation Package
Pay range: $20 – $30 hour

Landscape Crew Leader

The Landscape Crew Leader directs crew members in daily operations, including quality control, training, punctuality and safety.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 3+ years of landscape and hardscape experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to be an effective team member, to provide excellent customer service, and to maintain job documentation.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized in landscaping work.
  • Working knowledge of horticultural practices, annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs.
  • Ability to assign and supervise the work of others, provide instruction and leadership.
  • Ability to drive a skid steer and dump truck.

Landscape Crew

The Landscape Crew prepares the work site; installs plants, landscape lighting, and hardscape features; hauls and spreads topsoil, mulch, stones, and other landscape materials; rakes leaves; and prunes perennials, shrubs and trees.
