Enjoy the View: Landscape Design Inspiration at Home and Work
Last week, I shared the story behind our new tagline for the Landscape Department—“Enjoy the View at Home”—along with some of my personal landscape views that are bringing me joy right now.
But it’s not just at home—we’ve been working to enjoy the view at work, too.
Last summer, our team took on a landscape makeover project around our office trailer. We often invite clients inside for custom landscape design consultations, and honestly, the space just didn’t reflect the creativity and professionalism of our work. It was drab and outdated, and didn’t fit the welcoming environment we’ve created throughout the rest of the property.
Fast forward to today—what a transformation!
Last August, Carolyn and Maddison designed brand-new garden beds using plants from our own garden center. Our amazing Landscape Crew prepped the space and brought the design to life with thoughtful plant selection and layout.
The building itself got some love, too. We painted it bright white this spring, then teamed up with a talented local mural artist to bring color and creativity to the exterior. Now it feels fresh, inspiring, and completely aligned with who we are.
We’re proud to say: we truly enjoy the view at work.

Melanie has been with the family garden center business since 1999, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every aspect–from cashiering and greenhouse production to bookkeeping, perennial buying, marketing, and store management. Now serving as Finance and Marketing Director, she combines her expertise with a passion for growing the business. She and her husband, Russ, have loved seeing how plants, gardening, and beautiful landscapes bring joy to our community.
