Speaking of the rest of our season, we’re really excited for fall and have posted the fall event schedule. Mark your calendars for the big Fall Open House that kicks off Sunday, September 8.
Also new this fall, limited spots for Fall Mum Group Fundraisers. You can learn more and submit a request here.
I went for a walk the other day to take a break from my computer and noticed how good our fall mum crop looks. We grow many different varieties to stagger bloom-time readiness, beginning mid-August through October.
In the meantime, we have a fresh crop of fall annuals available to freshen up your containers and beds, including ornamental cabbage, celosia, and black-eyed Susans, to name a few. They give you great color through October, and can take a light frost. Our gourd and pumpkin patch is coming along, too, especially since we enclosed our fields with a new, higher fence. As many of you know, we’ve greatly scaled back our homegrown vegetables due to deer damage. Last summer we harvested zero ears of sweet corn after everything we planted. So far, so good in this smaller space. Look for our homegrown pumpkins next month.
I am personally taking notes of what changes I want to make in my perennial beds, so I’m excited to see these fresh perennials perfect for fall planting. As always, if you want some ideas or need a little help with fall garden plans, in-store Garden Coach appointments are currently available, as well as at-home Landscape Design Consultations. And you will love our foolproof InstaGarden Planting Kits especially for fall, one of the best times to plant, by the way.
Happy everything fall,
