Spring Gardening Guide, Part 1: Tips and resources for success this season
It’s here—the garden center re-opens for the season THIS Friday, March 28!
As you prepare and plan for this growing season, I wanted to pull together a few resources as a guide to get you started:
Soil and Mulch Calculator
Here’s a helpful calculator to estimate the number of soil or mulch bags or yards that you’ll need to cover an area of your garden or raised beds!
Make the most of our Mobile App!
From helpful tips and resources, to Rewards and gifts, check your app often for new updates. Be sure to check-in each time you visit for Rewards and allow notifications to be the first to know about events and store sales.
share your name
For a smoother shopping experience, check out using your customer account by sharing your name with the cashier. This ensures all your receipts are securely stored in our system, allowing us to better assist you with future returns, warranty needs, or any questions about past purchases.
browse our online store
Browse live perennial, shrub and tree availability before you make a trip! From here, you can add plants to your Shopping List, and then either Print or Email it to yourself.
Place a Pre-Order
Secure some of our most unique and high-demand plants by placing a Pre-Order. We’ll let you know when your plants are ready for pickup.

Get inspired by the beautiful photos and plant lists in The Gardener’s Idea Book. We grow and carry many of the Proven Winners plants. For some of the suggestions in the book, we may not have the exact variety that they mention, but we will have many other options that are very close, so reach out to one of our staff for guidance and options.
This is the beginning of our spring gardening guide, and stay tuned for more to come, including lists of what annuals, tomatoes and pepper plants we will have available.
On a side note, I have to mention that our friends at the Giant Oaks Garden Club are offering three scholarships to graduating seniors who have interest in gardening, landscaping, or the environment. Two of the scholarships are for $1,500 and one is for $1,000. The deadline to apply is April 1 and application can be downloaded here. Please spread the word to anyone or any groups that may be of interest.
Thanks for reading and for your great support. Wishing you many moments this season to Enjoy the View and feel the Homegrown Happiness.
