After the mad rush of spring planting and garden maintenance, it’s a relief to take a more leisurely approach to gardening this month. Here is your June Gardening Checklist, and a few things we’re looking forward to:
-
Sunday, June 11th is our Summer Open House, when we officially kick off the season. Join us for a fun day of giveaways, talented guest speakers, and plenty of our favorite local vendors.
-
June is Perennial Gardening Month, as designated by the Perennial Plant Association. Many of our homegrown perennials you’ve been waiting for will be ready for sale this month. And more freshly planted perennials will be available July – September!
-
June 19-25 is National Pollinator Week. We’ll be celebrating by highlighting some of our favorite plants for pollinators and offering deals to help you create your own pollinator habitats at home.
-
We are planting and caring for our cut flower and produce fields. Beginning July 15, we welcome you back to pick-your-own fresh bouquets and vegetables.
-
If you haven’t had a chance to get one of our Grab-n-Go containers or plant one of your own, we will be planting up new pots all summer and into fall. Let us know if you have a special request, pot up your own at our potting station, or join in one of our Make-n-Take Container Workshops. This month’s workshops cover an Edibles container and a Meditation Garden.
Last but not least, June 1st we wish Russ a Happy Birthday! Thank you for all you do as a husband, father, son and leader of our family business. Cheers to 45 years, Russ!
