It doesn’t matter how many years you’ve been gardening or working in the horticulture industry, there is always something new to discover.
One of the best parts of my job is walking through the greenhouses each week thinking about what to share. And so often in my exploration, I come across a plant I’ve never seen before. I get to look it up and share its best qualities with you, something that’s really fun for me. I also ask our plant-loving staff what catches their eye each week. Check our Facebook and Instagram for those if you’re interested.
As I pulled together the list of plants to highlight for pollinator week, I realized how amazing it is that we can all plant to make a positive impact on our environment. If you need more convincing about how important pollinators are, check out this quick read from the Pollinator Partnership. We have a couple classes on the subject next month, too, including a ‘Pollinator Palooza Container Make & Take Workshop‘ and a free Meet Me in the Garden lecture ‘How to Certify your Pollinator Garden,’ where our passionate resident pollinator expert, Doug, guides you through Penn State Extension’s certification process.
Thanks for growing with us!
