Fall Traditions.
Getting back into the fall routine has me thinking about everyone and everything that makes our lives possible. All of the people who came before us who believed in family, farming and this community.
In our case, that was Russ’ namesake and grandfather, Russ, whose father Stephen and Uncle Walter purchased the original property in Upper St. Clair in 1917. Stephen and his family farmed the land for many years, then sons Russell and Robert opened Bedner’s Farm Market in 1956. Grandpa Russ used a 1954 Case DC HP52 tractor to farm the fields, the same tractor that you’ll see inside Bedner’s today. It’s become a farm-favorite personality and photo opp for guests.
I hope you can feel how much we love this homegrown heritage and how it shows up in everything we do. Come start a new tradition with us.
